Important Reminders to Confirm a Job Interview
Being invited to a job interview should be viewed as a privilege because, admit it, not everyone is considered a viable candidate for a certain open position. Although an interview is no guarantee to landing on a job, it sure is a good first step. If you are expecting an invite with such intent or have received a call from a prospective employer, immediately confirm job interview.

Although recruitment specialists, managers, supervisors, and team leads are generally busy people, only about 5% of them say they don't want to receive calls from applicants who want to confirm interview schedule. This means 95% of employers would appreciate if you give them feedback about your application. Recruitment specialists can use your feedback.
How to Confirm a Job Interview
With that said, follow these expert advices to confirm a job interview.
Call. Though email is an option to confirm a job interview, calling is a much better and faster means to communicate your intention. Your email can get caught in the spam folder or not immediately read by recruitment staff. Hence, it makes sense to call and look for the person who scheduled your interview. Fax, meanwhile, is too intrusive.
KISS. Keep it short and simple. This is the golden rule when making business calls. Employees, especially people in key positions, are too busy to make long conversations over the phone. Just briefly say that you are coming to your interview for a particular position scheduled on a certain date and time.
Be courteous. Although you need to keep the phone conversation brief to confirm job interview, there's no need set aside courtesy either. Standard phone etiquette would do, such as greeting "good morning" or using phrases like "may I?" Being courteous, even though it is expected of you, is a lot more acceptable and appreciated than not being able to exhibit it in the first place.
Call a day before. And towards the end of the business day. As much as you want to make the interview a priority of the next day, you'll never know when emergencies will come up. Hence, calling towards the day end a practical way of avoiding calls to reschedule an interview (please see separate article on "How to Reschedule a Job Interview) due to emergencies.
